Heavy milling new face – The tangential cutters. An important addition to the wide variety of milling products Pramet brand for heavy machining, the tangential mounting of the new double side ensures robust pellets a rigid fixation. This results in a great resistance to impact and a machining with a cost -effective, due to the high productivity achieved in terms of progress and depth of cut.

For use with the cutter S60LN15C Pramet at an angle approaching 60 °, the LNEX tangential inserts are suitable for face milling iron and steel castings under conditions heavy machining.

Tomasz Cymorek, international application engineer at Dormer Pramet, said: “The construction of Tangential cutter ensures the stable fixation of inserts, while its assembly means the cutting force is concentrated along the thicker and resilient shaft of each pellet.

This it helps to withstand higher forces and provides an increase of at least 30 % of the useful life tool under extreme conditions, with respect to the radial option.

“Our new range of inserts is ideal for large work pieces cast or forged and intended mainly to the energy and marine sectors.”

The break – M chips have a positive geometry for standard workpieces and offers a low cutting force. The chip guiding KR have a more negative geometry parts of hard work and is the ideal choice for heavy milling conditions.

The pellets were produced using the new classes M5326, M8326 and M8346, developed specifically for heavy milling, in order to provide additional durability. The Pramet He launched the classes in November 2014.
